Group Order. Someone will contact a shop or distributor asking for a discount of a certain item with X orders. The GO leader usually doesn't make anything, but sometimes will take 1-5rmb of hassle fee if it requires them to mail out the items again. So I'm in a sock GO right now, and it costs 8rmb to buy them on taobao, but 6.5rmb per pair for orders of over 100 pairs on alibaba (wholesale supplier taobao). So the leader puts up a taobao page, and when that gets to 100 orders, goes to the alibaba page to make the whole order. Then (depending on whether or not the distributor is willing to ship individually), the items will get shipped by the leader or the distributor.

You can also do this with taobao shops by negotiating a price and number with the shop owner, then set a password or phrase. People who participate would then buy directly from the taobao shop, enter the password or phrase into the comments bar when they check out, and get a discounted rate. There are passcodes for most lolita shoe shops (Sosic, Antaina, Lolita Kingdom etc.) I also got my CP pettis like 20% cheaper.
