honestly, crocheted scarves can look just as nice as knit scarves if the person bother to count stitches and keep the tightness of the stitch even throughout. Also counting. Fucking count. Included pic of what happens when you don't count- it's uneven along the edges etc. Using two different thickness of yarn is also a huge "oh god don't". If you're confident in your ability to keep everything even and are willing to unravel what you've already done if you make a mistake, and generally have a lot of patience, you can make a crocheted scarf look nice. (and thread in your loose ends, don't tie.
