/cgl/ - Cosplay & EGL

Working on a Sarkhan Vol cosplay (specifically unbroken), first time cosplaying. I know the boots and leggings are Persian style but I have no idea on what that whole belt sash thing is or where to even start with that. Any ideas?

I've never cosplayed before but there's one I'd really like to try it. Image is what I'd like to do. I did some digging and the getup has some inspirations from Persian wardrobes, especially with the leggings and boots. Haven't found a complete match for the bracers, they're apparently leather with a metal plate and a red cloth around em. What I'm completely lost on is the belt-sash thing. I'm not sure what it's called. If anyone has any ideas as to what that part is or where to start with all that any pointers are greatly appreciated.
