Lolita of five years here, this thread is exactly what I needed. I'm thinking of phasing a lot of the sweet stuff out of my Lolita wardrobe and only keeping dark-colour sweet stuff and more gothic/classic/traditional lolita stuff, but I want to bring Otome in to sort of fill the gap where sweet would be, since I still want to wear cute colours and stuff. I've admired it for years but never really got around to biting the bullet. Thank you all for this thread, it's a treasure.

I have two questions that I'd love help with, though.
1. Though Otome isn't big on poof at all, often lacking any, what sort of petti is desirable for the low-poof look? Is a low-end A-line type suitable?
2. Does anyone have any examples of Lolita brand items in Otome coords? Probably not dresses, at least not anything outside cutsew dresses, but I'd like to bring a lot of my current accessories into it so I'd mostly be starting out just buying main pieces and maybe cardigans and such.

I'm not who you're talking to, but I'm about to move in with roomies who smoke a lot. Would you say that oder eliminating sprays are generally safe for lolita clothing? I'm really annoyed/scared that I'm gonna end up with a smokey wardrobe when I don't even smoke. There are lots of methods, but I don't want to do something that'll risk my wardrobe.

Uhm... Update, sorry you guys are getting a real-time playthrough on my struggles... But the order went through, I ended up getting the JSK and headbow in ivory instead of brown. I'm calm now and I can proceed to eat dinner.
I'm having happy feels, I'm finally going to have over 20 main pieces (OPs and JSKs is how I'm counting, minus my sub-par quality first dress) after collecting for about 4 years. (being a student is suffering) I just have to wait for this order and another order and all will be right in the world.

Did anyone here get hit with custom fees when you recieved your LP? I ordered the AP special set in pink to Sweden and I hope to god I don't have to pay tons of money for customs..
