yeah, same here! I'm the anon you replied to. Every six months or so I get back into Vocaloid for a short bit and find new songs, but like you said, I just kind of grew out of the obsession and only continued to listen to a few select J-pop artists with casually liking anime. Back in the day I loved anything cute that sounded good and nowadays I have a much broader liking for different songs and meanings.
Akuno-P is great, and yes, he still makes songs. My favorite producer as a kiddo was Hachi-P but since a few years ago it is Kikuo - I love all his sounds, imagery, and very dark/tragic stories told in a light way.

Holy heck do I miss the old days when there was always new PVs and costume designs. I pray for some sort of Vocaloid revival era.
