Seeing creeps taking shots or following cosplayers absolutely grinds my gears. It's basic courtesy to ask someone for a photo or video before taking one, regardless of cosplay. You ask the solid snake cosplayer for a photo just like you ask the schoolgirl cosplayer for a photo. This applies for people out of costume as well.

Like >>10319955 suggested you can also modify what you're wearing. I personally think bloomers are cute and 100% more fitting in some cases, especially in lolita and some Touhou cosplay.

Another thing is wearing bike shorts under skirts, or shorts that match the color of your shirt or nude colored ones. One thing I do for cosplay with short skirts is I get dance tights and dye the very top a short gradient black, almost like how upskirts are censored in anime.

Ultimately it comes down to saying something when someone is creeping on you. Nothing's wrong with calling someone out who's following you or being weird and trying to take weird pictures of you. Same goes with touching, obviously. For people who shut down or clam up in scary situations like that it's also great to call out creeps for them. Some people just shut down when someone's being creepy and they can't say anything. People who stand up for them are heroes.
