The best idea I've had so far is to embed (large) magnets in the sword and have a couple of corresponding magnets on a belt loop as well as attached to something like pic related. I don't know what this thing is called but know it's used for smaller scabbards, though. Any alternatives that wouldn't be easily seen through a shirt would be great - I don't want to be walking around visibly sporting one of these.
