Hindsight is 20/20 my friend. I'm female but I can understand panicking when someone finds that stuff and outs you. In general terms, people don't really understand this sort of thing and immediately jump to transgender or Silence of the Lambs level creepiness because of pop culture and transgender issues being forefront however, on the flip side, pop culture can also help you in that if you need a quick and handy excuse to prevent them from thinking the most extreme/worst, you can just tell them "It's dragqueen, like RuPaul, you know?" because most people get that the same way people get cosplay as in "Oh, Comic Con! That's neat!" instead of a few years ago being "What, like Halloween? It's not Halloween, you're weird."

Personally, my family is fine with me cosplaying and even elderly family friends love seeing photos of my cute school uniform and dress cosplays but I've been too nervous to show them any crossplays or bring it up.
Instead I actually got lucky when I decided to get my hair chopped off and went from below shoulder length to a pixie cut that makes me look really boyish and everyone in my family and their friends absolutely loved it and said I've never looked better.

So yeah, sorry they found out like this but now that it's out in the open you've got really nothing to hide and that may work out for you. You can just test the waters by maybe wearing your apron next time someone's over and you're cooking food and just see how it goes!
