generally speaking if it's for a larp then no probelm in adding the rubber soles. Noone will give a fuck, and those who does can be called out as retards.

And while boots might be better in a lot of situation, shoes make your lower leg visible more which means others can see your (hopefully) tightly fitted hose and all o it's marvelous colors
