I understand that there is a culture gap here, but please try to understand what this sounds like to us yanks. It's hard for us to comprehend a world where we can't open a bag of fucking peanuts because we're forbidden to carry a *pocket knife.* You know, those wee things that Boy Scouts use to whittle balsa wood. Or cut a bit of twine while you're tying something to the cargo rack of your car before driving home from the lumber yard. It is even more incredible to hear someone speaking about a pocketknife like it's something to *worry about.* Like we're walking around with hand grenades in our pockets, or maybe live cobras. Anyone of a mind to hurt someone could arm themselves better by pulling their tire iron out of their boot. Or a three foot breaker bar, which I keep in my vehicle for changing tires (helped others twice, never needed myself yet, thankfully.)

I dunno. I just can't imagine not having that tool to hand.
