When the women's rights movement came to be (which I don't oppose women having equal rights) women wore more revealing clothes.
Eventually instead of valuing a woman that knew how to treat a man, a relationship became something of a beauty contest.

There's a line however between modest clothing and skimpy outfits.
If you wear the skimpy outfits, expect to be treated like someone who doesn't value themselves very much (even if you think this is a form of 'empowerment for yourself, because that's not how other people perceive it).
