If fictionkin logic is like otherkin, the argument goes that there are infinite universes, and thus somewhere out there in one of those universes exists the real life version of Jasper or Madoka or whatever. Our dear fictionkin is psychically connected to this real life Jasper on the astral plane, and seeing the coincidental cartoon version of her awoke her ~~~deep connection~~~ to this person and sometimes the ability to channel them a la Miss Cleo.

This is also why it's "not weird" for two people to share the same kin character, because infinite universes means there could be multiple jaspers hrr drrr drrrrrrrp.
