the high suicide rate is very much pre-transition. it makes sense that most of the depression and anxiety is suffered before a person is able to be their desired self (read: real self).
imagine being trans in this society. in some places you can't get reliable work outside of sex work and straight up strangers tend to be violent when you walk down the street "violating" gender rules.

my ex is trans, but passes extremely well, and has devoted his life to keeping the fact that he's trans within a close group of people he trusts. it's easy for him to live as stealth but the terror is always with him of being "found out" since he works in a male-dominated industry. you must be very sheltered to not know how many trans people have been murdered on the spot.

you can't know someone's xsomes from looking at them. gender is beautifully nuanced and is separate from biological sex. fucking let people live peacefully. they are not hurting you.
