That's why I try to point out to my friends (who happen to have become seagulls) that those "horror stories/feels/opinions on someone's personality" are extremely one-sided and subjective and that the person writing them may skew the reality a LOT. Unfortunately, "I met her once and she didn't smile at me, what a bitch!!!" coming from such people seems to be proof enough for other seagulls to hate a cosplayer/lolita despite not once meeting the person in question.

Sure, there's lots of nice seagulls too, I'm certain, but more often than not you tend to run into shitty ones first.

4chan is not a good place to make friends, unfortunately. People here bond over their hate of x thing/person (among other things, surely) and making friends that way is reeeeeallly bad. I went through it several times myself as a teen.

What makes me feel great is cotton underpants with a wide waistband and high waist, that fully cover my ass and are therefore wide enough not to ride up my asscrack during a hike. I can't imagine polyester, lace and chiffon making anyone feel good other than it being in pretty colors with cute pictures and embellishments that the washing machine fucks up anyway (or you have to hand wash them). Same goes for bras. I can look cute on the outside, but if anyone has a problem with me being comfortable and not wearing the Hanging Gardens of Babylon on my tits and ass just for looks, they can go fuck themselves with a 10-inch dildo as far as I'm concerned.
Same goes for heels, I'd just never give up comfort for cheap eye candy. Women's clothes are already becoming shittier and shittier, tops are more and more synthetic and see-through and clothes manufacturers often forget to even slap on some normal-ass pockets. At least my underwear ought to be comfortable and high quality.
