anon your boyfriend sounds like a total asshole. It's kind of silly of him to try and justify it that way, since most people treat others normally and not based on how they look like.
Does your boyfriend only treat you well because of your looks too then?

I'm not trying to make you doubt your boyfriend, but imo he should be standing up for you if your roomie treats you like shit.
You should probably talk with the roomie about it but as you said yourself, it's not even certain that he's gonna listen.

There's a man who attends the conventions in my loop who always finds some way or another to complain about how something isn't fair or isn't well thought out because of his relationship with his parents some how. He's 27 or so and lives with his folks and feels the need to discuss it often.

When it comes to cons, I usually just drink lots of water and small, not too messy snacks during the day, and when its not as busy I usually go get a proper meal with some friends.
