We spotted her again in the general area but she was preoccupied talking with some neckbeards in the far corner so she quickly went out of mind. I was sure the worst was over. When Loki and Res returned it was happily with the shield’s buyer and he accepted it graciously. Pics were taken. A good time was had and Lady Deadpool made her final move.
“Can I take a picture with the ugly shield, Now?” She asked Res.
“I’m sure you guys are sick of me annoying you but I’d really appreciate it.”
Res looked around at us and then to her.
“Pleeeease.”
“Alright…” She said with trepidation.
“You’ll be careful?” She asked with a pause.
“I’ll be SO careful, thank you.”
Loki stood up and handed it to her with a tight jaw.
“Oh, will you pose with me Loki?” Lady Deadpool asked.
“If it’s the last I’ll see of you…” He said.
They took the picture and he returned it to the display.
“One more!” Lady Deadpool pleaded with one finger up, We were all visibly eager to get her out from behind the booth but she wanted a “Group shot.” And we obliged to move things along.
“Loki you sit too.” She ordered and as he moved past her to take his seat ….
My jaw dropped as she pulled it out from under him.
There came her boyfriend’s laughter and an audible crash as his head hit the bottom of the display and his feet scooted the booth’s table forward. My girlfriend sprang into action and settled the shield as it rattled and nearly toppled from its rack. Res grabbed Loki by his shoulder and lifted his head asking frantically if he was alright. He was more embarrassed then hurt and his face was as red as a smacked ass. He reached around blindly for his helmet (which he’d dropped) and cursed as he examined it.
We were already starting to draw attention when I realized I was yelling.
