gulls, how do i get my nerdy /mu/ bf to be more /fa/?

he's got a decent basic sense of aesthetics but i'm pretty sure he's still wearing like, jeans he bought in high school. he likes black and he's really into music so he wears a lot of band t shirts.

i just sorta want him to start dressing in nicer brands and more monochrome, like pic related. anyone have experience gently coaxing their bf to dress nicer?
