>if travelling to a con out of state or country, learn about it (danger for muggings or pocketing, unfriendly to whatever stats you rolled/tourists/the cosplay you're bringing, scams, laws, norms, etc.)
>try to scope out the con floor when it's empty and get a feel where is what, ESPECIALLY safety exits
>the convention center is a rabid sweaty smelly warzone, prepare for it accordingly
>check for spycam setups in con restrooms
>revise your basics on how to act in natural disasters, mass shootings, etc
