I know that a lot of what's on the market right now is old, but I still saw a lot of pieces in old vids that I'd never seen before. It seems hardest to get stuff from pre-2002, there's usually a lot of 2002 stuff floating around. You might be onto something with the idea of private sales to friends though, it seems more likely than that that 90% of old Moitie fans are still wearing it.

I've seen quite a few similar OTT lacy skirts kicking about that I didn't buy because I didn't think they'd match any of my blouses - I now realise I should probably have coorded them with a cape. Like this Baby one, it's sold out now but is similar:
