Well, you doesn't need a full plate neccesearily. I mean, I always had a half plate, and I'm happy with that.

Depends on everything. My stuff is I think somewhere around 12kg, not sure, never really weighted all of it and since then I changed a helmet to a thicker one, new gorget and got a five fingered right gauntlet. But here is a pic

Anyway, you want a kettle hat that is similar to that >>9002796 then you need face protection too. A falling buffe would give the most similarity, that's roughly late 15 - mid 16 IIRC
