Teen boys tend to have softer features, giving them a more "feminine" or androgynous appearance. They still look like boys though.

I might be in the minority, but I never mistook Link for a girl. He looks like a 15-year-old boy drawn in anime style to me. The thick eyebrows and big nose he has are both common traits of a male, and you don't typically find those on anime girls. The big eyes are a different story, though. But imo they just make him look young rather than like a girl.
