Can I ask a question about hair here? I didn't see a hair care thread...

I'm thinking about getting bangs again as I grow out my hair since shit looks spectacularly boring but I'm having a shitload of trouble finding a good picture of what I'm wanting. Closest I can find right now is this picture of T.Swift.

Basically I want them to taper down in my longer hair but to not be super heavy (as in blocky) or too thin and looking stringy. I don't want a Zooey Deschanel deal where half the top of my hair is bangs, I'd like them to be a rather small part of my hair, if that makes sense. I also don't want them blunt but to where they look choppy. How would I go about describing that to my stylist along with showing her this picture? I trust her, but I've had a lot of bad experiences with previous hairdressers totally misinterpreting what I ask for and then ending up with thick block bangs that take over half my face and chop off a good deal of my face-framing length.
