If you're seeing frumpy old lady, you're seeing shit coords. A lot of people think earthy colours+long skirt+scarf=mori, without really taking into account the way things may drape on them. Half of the look is draping and layers, so if you're broader than your average Japanese person, and try to compensate by just making the clothing bigger, you're going to look less like a forest fairy, and more like a bag lady.
