Sorry I don't have a nicer picture (still waiting on my pictures from a shoot at ALA), but this is what the bottom of my dress looked like! My recommendation if you do try and go the cut-loop way is to use a fabric that doesn't fray a lot (my outer purple and pink are a spandex knit and the dark purple is a polyester suiting), and then seal the crap out of it with Fray Check. (You'll probably need a couple bottles, and be warned that it smells horrible after a while...)

Ah, thank you for the response! And I get what you mean about the number of loops. Personally, I went for a bit more stylized look (pic related, excuse my messy room), with the "loops" being cut tiers of a spandex knit, sealed with Fray Check (which works wonders, by the way; I hadn't used it before and I am very pleased!)
