/cgl/ - Cosplay & EGL

I'm planning a cosplay of a character with a hip-hugging skirt. I'm kind of self-conscious about my hips and worried the style will be unflattering on me. Would it be better to go with a slight a-line to look less unflattering, or go with strict accuracy?
pic related, obscure so I'm not really worried about the wrong skirt shape reducing recognizability much.
