I see nothing wrong with using those colors. The creator of the style, Choco used lots of color in her outfits. Mori style is not all beige, brown and white. Knee length skirts and one-piece dresses are also ok.
Also you really don't have to use tons of layers, and can keep your style simple.
However, don't forget to at least accessorize (with scarves, hair clips, brooches, tights etc) to give your outfits a more complete look.
