You’d be surprised how many actually go bare faced in lolita. It’s a common complaint but I see it more towards newbies anymore. you can’t really blame someone for thinking ‘neckbeard incel’ when they’re complaining about women wearing too much make up since again, it’s incredibly common and immediately associating heavier make up with being a slut. It’s not like Mana went minimal in the make up department or anything, he certainly experimented with heavy, visual kei and borderline gothic drag queen make up while wearing the fashion so who are you to say what should or shouldn’t be appropriate make up for lolita? Not everyone in this fashion wishes to be some demure, innocent ‘dolly’ type figure.
