Anyways, the only problem I have with most miniature cocked hats as you have pictured, is the flat crown. You'll notice the nicer ones are all domed, and to my period-eyes, looks more correct.

It is indeed a hilariously ancient photo (over 10 years old) and I'm kinda amazed someone has it saved. That is actually a prototype hat I made to see if there was interest in mini tricorns back when pirate Lolita started getting popular. It's flat because I didn't have a round form yet and was just testing. All actual tricorn hats I've sold have had rounded tops. I still make them after all these years.
