They don't glorfy LA though. Japanese really think Paris is some fashionable, whimsical foreign fairytale.

When I was in Shinjuku an ad played on the streets about Paris. It was a very fashionable beautiful japanese girl, twirling in her dress on a clean platform with no other people on it and the eiffel tower in the background.

Pic related is how Paris is advertised to the japanese and that's how they think it is.
