No experience with Splat but Manic Panic has been pretty average for me (washes out really quickly), although their amplified colours are better than their normal ones. I've only personally tried their blues though, some people swear by their reds. I much prefer Special Effects and I've tried Candy Apple Red which was amazingly bright, almost pinky, and stopped leaking colour after three washes (which is when this photo was taken). I also had Blue Velvet which was a pretty cool purply-blue and dark enough to go over gingery Asian although of course it stayed for far less time over that compared to when it was more bleached. Stay away from Blue Haired Freak though, it's only worth it as a toner or if you have bleached-to-white hair.
