I've been taking first-aid training (and practicing it, and teaching it to others) for a lot longer than that. The Red Cross training course - required to get the nifty little card for your wallet - is eight hours long.

I attend the refresher courses to keep my certs current, because if I don't? I have to take the whole 8-hour class again. Aintnobodygottimefordat.
