It means that a different fabric is used somewhere. Basically, it is "switching" fabrics. Pic related, the bodice is a completely different fabric, thus "switching" from the chiffon underneath.

Depends on who you ask, to me it definitely looks like a knockoff. Cats having a tea party is not original, but the placement and style is just too similar for my taste.
