I'd say 1999-2005 for old school. I love the more simplistic designs that focused on fabrics, lace and cuts rather than modern day dresses which gear towards intricate prints and layering of ruffles and accessories. Pic related is the pinnacle of lolita to me.

I'd also like to have been a fully fledged lolita during the OTT sweet era. I think it'd have been very fun and exciting, plus it looks very cute.
