If I had a quality Thompson, I absolutely would.

The game rules limit us to <250fps and single-action weapons (no automatics). Which in turn means that we can only really buy fairly cheap airsofts, and in turn THAT means that they break a lot. At one point I went through 3 Thompsons in 4 games, and at that point I stopped giving much of a shit about detailing the weapon. I throw some silver weathering on it and it's "good enough" for as long as it lasts. At $20 for a replacement, it's not worth spending 10 hours on filling the holes and painting them to match the wood grain.

I've got my eye on a full-weight, low-FPS replica Thompson airsoft (without stuff like screw holes) if I ever manage to find a fully-automatic gun in-game, but actual automatics are really expensive (in-game) to purchase AND to keep running, and I just don't have the resources to pull that off yet.

Besides, it doesn't look so bad in action.
