On most EE pieces the ribbon isn't actually sewn down. It's usually two thread belt loops on either side to hold the ribbon in place. So you can slip the ribbon directly out of the belt loops and wear it without.

Then you can wear blouses with a nice ruffle bottom directly over the skirt without worrying whether the shirring looks bad, the ribbon has shifted, or if the skirt is giving you a muffin top.

If you normally do a less OTT classic, I'd suggest sticking to your usual style instead of heading in a different direction. Maybe a simple classic blouse and lace tights would work better, the pink here looks kind of shoe horned imo.
