She's worse than JNigger I think, in that she's not even dedicated to one subculture. She did one movie when she was a kid (acting as a boy nontheless) and now is trying to make a half-assed return online by doing 20 things at once. At least JNigger is trying to make her own costumes and pretends to play games or whatever. I sort of respected Xu Jiao at first when she posted her first cosplay set, not letting her minor celebrity get in the way of her interests, but the speed and shallowness of her 'interests' is just blatant she's milking it. Imagine if JNigger started doing cybergoth/pastelgoth/lolita/fairy kei/seifuku/maid at the pace of a new one a week.

Yes, the hanfu movement is still a subculture. The officially recognized 'traditional costume' is the qipao, which I fucking hate because it's Manchurian in origin, and ugly on everyone, as well as slutty all around. People are trying to get back into it, and things like dissections of historical hairstyles/make-up/hanfu types are very popular on weibo.

Hey Janitor, stop pruning every reference to JNig, we're not discussing her directly and the hanfu part is relevant to the taobao thread in general. Anon saged too.

制服呢 is a type of polyester cross-weave fabric that's very cheap, has good support, and comes in many bright colors. It's often used in making service uniforms etc. so many cosplay shops use it. Be careful anon, it's super hot and itchy though, and not very flowy. If you're not worried about comfort or heat (cotton shirt underneath etc.) then I would recommend it for uniform-style cosplays. There's another type of fabric that's similar, less itchy and hot but a bit more expensive, that is also used in cosplay called 卡单皇/卡单黄. You may be able to get your SS to request it be made with that instead, but expect the charge to go up. 制服呢全套 just means the whole set is made with that fabric.
