hmm, he's associated with the avengers, the x-men, and the fantastic four, so that gives you a ton of options, actually! this girl, ms.marvel, is also closely associated, and i like this costume a lot. honestly, kids are not going to know anything about comics, so they're not going to recognize you, but it's not hard to come up with a sentence or two explaining who you are, especially since you're willing to do research/ good luck!
