I did things massively out of order (marriage ceremony so he could move to my country, but no wedding reception). For that, his parents gave us rings for me as a gift, but he said he wants to get me a "real" ring eventually.

I think I'd like a Claddagh ring (He is Irish, and the meaning is really lovely), with a coloured stone. Example.
