Set up:
>usually cosplays what my boyfriend is into
>boyfriend is into VN and kancolle
>every other advanced otaku is also into kancolle and VN

Main story:
>cosplaying Tomoyo from clannad at one convention
>man approaches asking politely for a photo
>a bit shy, or maybe a little spaghetti falling out of pockets
>pretty distinct in look and personality, I see him around the convention the next few days
>few months later at another convention
>dressed as a boat girl
>the same guy comes up to me and asks for a photo
>I remember this guy..
>is polite and strikes up a conversation:

Me: I remember you from x con! I was cosplaying tomoyo, and you also took a photo of me there!

Him: I don't know what you're talking about. I wasn't at that con.

>turns out he has an identical twin brother
>who is equally socially awkward as he is
