ahh man, here comes the feels.
>working 2 full time jobs to pay for college in the fall
>have had 11 days off since New Years
>schedule off from both places to do a smaller con this past Saturday
>car breaks down not two days before I'm scheduled to leave
>Have to get rental
>friend loses her wallet on the first day, everything is looking horrible...
But then...
>I ran my first ever panel, it went great, had the con chair a bit later compliment me on filling up a morning panel and also on my first panel, to boot!
>had two separate participants thank me for running such a 'different' panel, instead of droning on about fandoms, and the other liked the candy
>being a con in a smaller town, the local news crew comes out, and when you go back to your room and see yourself in costume on the news, it's kind of surreal
>Lady who runs another con in the area straight up asked me to staff her con this summer
Weekend went absolutely great, and then to make things better...
>doing some car searching, local dealership is pushing out last year's 2016 models for cheap
>dealer has a new car listed at $12,100 with 6 (six) miles
>pinch me im dreaming
>call in earlier today to see if they've still got it
>"hi my name is ___ please hold and I'll go check inventory."

So much to do, and I'll still have a nice nest egg saved up for tuition in the fall, everything is turning out better than expected

I'm not here to evangelize, but I'll give you my recipe to picking out a costume.

Creativity: Has it been done before? An overdone costume is going to lose points no matter what, because it's not unique, even if you are a super accurate version of it. Think deadpools here.

Recognizability: Will people recognize your costume for what it is, or will you just be a generic wig wearing blob with a school uniform?

Feasibility: Are you technically capable of crafting such a costume? As much fun as it would be to make something crazy like a Jojo stand or a Gundam, those are a bit out of my range, so I stray away from them. They may not be beyond yours. Do you have a specific crafting technique that you're very good with, like sewing or making plate armor? Then use it.

Tl;dr think outside the box you shitter, your only limit is your imagination.
