well, considering it's a style I've seen recommended for (and pulled off well by) inverted triangle (ie the natural shape of most men) shape women and larger body frames, I don't think it's necessarily a terrible idea and worth consideration. It needn't be a frumpy look and can be scaled back/toned down. Mori girl style, another 'layering' look, tends to be even more feminine looking.

Mori girl often gets called 'petite girl fashion' sure, but not regular European lagenlook style.
