I don't know. Part of the reasons gijinka cosplays are awesome is because the person gets to use their own ideas and creative liberties to put a unique twist on a character. Using someone else's designs takes a lot of that away. I'm not against it, I just wouldn't have as much pride in it as I would with a design of my own.
