time I've heard of them being lenient about cancelling was with a figure that did not look anything like the prototype, I think it was by either Griffin or Pulchra.

Nayrt, but yes. They are very common when it comes to figures, especially if it's Alter or GSC. I have a GSC figure on preorder that has been delayed for 8 months now.
