I don't understand why you jumped to the conclusion about the Hyrulean Royal family's policy on marriage, it's fictional and I don't recall it ever being mentioned (???). Princesses could marry whoever they want in a lot of places in history. And technically Link is a savior who was chosen by the gods to save their land, wielding the Master Sword and has the Triforce of Courage, so I'd say he's the roughly the equivalent.

It just sounds like you're upset somebody doesn't ship your OTP.
