Here's the thing. Even if you put a bronze lipstick on a girl, there's going to be color variation in the light/shadow of her lips, as opposed to it being the same color with white or black added to it. Kind of like this. Nothing is ever going to really look like one solid color, especially not a metallic makeup, where parts of it are going to look more yellowy or reddish, depending on what and where it is.

Excuse the lazy shoop, but I figured it would be easier to show than to explain.
