Hello again LARP thread! I come to you once more for weapon-making advice.

Typically I've only carried a big two-handed sword or polearm, and this has occasionally presented difficulties when I'm hit with a weapon-breaking spell or lose a limb. So I'm looking to remedy this by making an arming sword for backup.

Most of my experience is with two-handed sword, so naturally the types XIII and XX are looking really attractive since they'll match the style I'm already familiar with. I'm wondering if the extra length will present a problem when fighting one-handed, though. Do you think it's worth making something shorter, more in the Frankish/Viking style? Am I way overthinking this?
