i started wearing the fashion in like '05 or '06 and i remember a time when meta was the only big brand that shipped overseas. i think that's why i still have a big soft spot for them. i also bought stuff from anna house (that hong kong brand) a couple times too. i wish i still had some of my old meta, i ended up giving it away when i decided to build a new wardrobe one year

also i remember that back then, one of the biggest sources of drama was whether or not ero lolita was really a lolita substyle or not. kana / moon kana / whatever her name is started doing a lot of ero lolita photoshoots around that time and some people seemed grouchy about it

looking back on those days makes me feel fucking ancient. my wardrobe for the first few years was mostly handmade because you just couldn't buy real lolita clothing in the states. those scanned patterns from g&l bible were a lifesaver
