I really like to sew and create stuff
>Oh, what kind of stuff do you sew?
Mostly costumes
>For like ren fairs?
More for comicbook conventions are stuff
>ooooh thats cool, once i saw on TV blahblahnlah fat guy in sailor moon costume blahblahlbah

its not that hard to make your hobby seem less weird. i always say "comicons" because people know what that is, vs "anime convention"

24 hour fitness! Its got the best rate in my area for the size of the gym. They also randomly forget to charge me for a month every once in a while so thats nice. I would go to the one on campus since its free but its tiny and only has room for a few people, and only one bar to share.

You dont need a DSLR to take "high quality photos" - a DSLR gives you the control of full manual mode + interchangable lenses.

If you're going to get a camera and leave it in Auto, dont waste your money on a DSLR. If you're willing to take the time to practise and learn auto and spend the money (glass is often as expensive as the camera) then a good entry is the t2i or t3i if you're a canon fan, D5100 if you're a nikon fan.

I know olympus and sony make DSLRs as well, but I dont know much about them.

tl;dr unless you have the money and time to make a DSLR worth it, go for a higher end point and shoot.
