Meh, I personally will get my jimmies russled if they're ita. If it's obvious that a brolita is not wearing makeup to even out his skin/pores, has mis-matching items, has unkempt hair, then I will suspect that he's not really into the fashion at all.

I think my bias is because of Mana. Mana is at least in his 50s now, and he's still featured in GLB dressing in lolita. Granted, he's shooped to death in the photos, but THAT is the standard I hold all brolitas to.

When I see a female lolita look amazing, it's "Oh how lovely", but not out-right rejoicing, and if I see a female ita, my reaction is a flaccid "oh how unfortunate". In contrast, if I see a brolita look amazing, I am in goddamn awe, and when I see an ita brolita, then I find myself judging them way more harshly.

Say what you want about Mana, but he is a figurehead in the history of lolita fashion.

And for me, because Mana is still projecting this ideal for brolitas (whether it's realistic or not), I WILL judge bad-looking brolitas more harshly.
