1- Well, that pict is just a foam cosplay. Lot of skill involved, sure, but that don't enter into the things I have just described. complete big ass suit, gundam and the like, metal armor set. And also : if that would be true, and I believe there is some girls doings that, in what way the point I made would be changed ?
2- As long as it's not pointy or a weapon, security guard don't give a shit about metal. Else most iron men, couldn't get in. It's really not new, cf : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qnx1WiMETG0

Thats one of the reason why I prefer thermoplastic/metal. I can fool arround just fine (as long as endurance permit it), and if someone run into me, well i will be more sorry for them than for my armor.
Gundam have such huge frame that they are either made very fragile or unable to move.
Although there is smaller gundam that must be easier to wear, and make.
